Sean Taylor was a free safty for the Washington Redskins from 2004, where he was drafted fifth
overall in the first round, to 2007 when he was murdered in Florida. Taylor signed a seven year
$18 million contract following the draft. Before being drafted Taylor's college team was the University of Miami Hurricanes.
In 2001 The Hurricanes won thier fifth National Championship since 1983, making them the most succesful college football program
of the past three decades during that period.
Sean Taylor played three full seasons with the Redskins before his death in 2007. Taylor was shot
on November 26, 2007 in the upper leg by an armed intruder at his home in Florida. He was airlifted to
Jackson American Hospital in Miami wher he was later pronounced dead at 3:30 a.m. On December 3, 2007, 4,000 people attended
Taylor's funeral including the entire Washington Redskins organization, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
